BOLT's community processes

Some more info

To preserve BOLTs goal to be a place where everyone is inspired to share and explore, we take following

guidelines very seriously. Here is how the process works

Violations

Although BOLT has on-device systems to detect things like nudity, hate, and harmful content we know it is possible to still get around it. We classify violations into two types, safety violations and general violations. Safety violations include nudity, violent/graphic content, hateful content, and anything that can harm the safety of the BOLT community. General violations include not being relevant when public sharing, posting political content as defined below, and others that go against our guidelines but don't pose an immediate threat to the BOLT community. Here is how we handle them:

1. Safety Violations - In all cases users are banned from publicly posting content for 1-3 months. Depending on the severity of the violation, users can be permanently banned from the app. Users can make an appeal by emailing support@theboltsocial.com

2. General Violations - In most cases users are banned from publicly posting for 1-4 weeks. Depending on the severity of the violation, users can be banned from from sharing content for up to 6 months. Users can make an appeal by emailing support@theboltsocial.com.

Reports

Users can report content for various reasons. We take reports very seriously. Each report is carefully looked at by our community team and then handled based on the Violations protocol as mentioned above.

Note: Using reports to further a personal agenda will lead to a permanent ban from the platform (ex. reporting someone multiple times because you simply don't like them).

AI Content

AI generated content is prohibited on BOLT. Posting AI generated content publicly will lead to a General Violation as mentioned above. At BOLT we consider AI generated content, in this context, image or text that is fully created by AI tools.

Political Content

On the BOLT app we don't allow political content to be shared publicly to tags or on feeds. We took this step to preserve the mission of BOLT, which is creating a space where everyone is inspired to share things they love. Politics, more often than not, causes conflict amongst individuals and other issues on social networks. Although we do believe in free expression, platforms already exist and have sophisticated tech trained for decades to handle political content.

What we define as political content: Discussions on elections, political parties, candidates, government policies, legislation, political ideologies, social movements with political ties, foreign policy, political activism, protests, and more.
